We thought you might like to know more about Don’t Blink Burlesque co-founder and co-producer, Fanny Galore. So we found her trying on ALL THE BOOTY SHORTS, and we asked her a few questions for you!

Q: How did you start doing burlesque and become a performer?
F: I saw my first show in 2008 and felt it was something I just HAD to do. I’ve been dancing since middle school, but I always felt like something was missing…turns out, it was burlesque!

Q: How many acts are in your repertoire and which is your favorite?
F: I have over 15 solo acts and 7-8 group acts in my current rep. I honestly can’t pick one as my favorite. Each is completely unique and shows a different side of me.

Q: Tell us a little about Fanny’s Fox Den, Tucson’s only burlesque studio.
F: Fanny’s Fox Den gives students the opportunity to do burlesque in whatever venue they are comfortable in. Some students will take bump and grind to spice up their life or try something new. Some will go on to be professional performers. We offer classes of all types and levels to meet individual needs. And all the teachers rock.

Q: What is your favorite thing about burlesque?
F: I LOVE the individuality of burlesque. I feel like you can really be yourself onstage and it’s ok. There is something for everyone. I have also met really incredible people on this journey and I am so grateful for that.

Q:What is your favorite drink?
F: If I’m getting down to business, it’s Long Island Iced Tea. If I’m taking things slow…Riesling.

Q: How did you come up with your name?
F: Actually, my husband, Manny Galore, picked it for me. I wanted something relating to my “galorious” back side. We were going through a bunch of burlesque names and all of a sudden he said, “Fanny Galore!” The rest is history….

Q: Honestly, how long does it take you to get ready for a show?
F: When I first started, it took me 3-4 hours to get ready. Now, I can go from zero to stage-ready in a half hour. No joke.
